PLM tops Physician Licensure Exam, alumnus lands 5th place
The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) celebrates the strong performance of its alumni from the College of Medicine who passed the October 2021 Physician Licensure Examination.
 
PLM logged the highest passing rate among all medical schools with a 98.06% passing rate, as 101 of its 103 test takers making the cut.
 
The university’s passing rate is well above the national passing rate of 72.85%. In total, there are 1,677 newly-licensed medical doctors out of 2,302 test takers.
 
PLM also celebrates with its medical school alumnus, Vienne D. Pinlac, who ranked Top 5 among all the board passers. He recorded an 87% score in the examination.

“PLM considers topping the medical board exam as extremely significant as the world battles the COVID-19 pandemic that has caused over 5 million deaths and trillions of pesos in economic losses,” PLM President Emmanuel Leyco said.
 
“We are one in celebrating with PLM’s new doctors and their families as they are now licensed to heal patients. The timing of their practice could not come at a more opportune time as the country continues to battle the COVID-19 pandemic," he added.
 
“Congratulations to our new doctors! We hope you will use your healing skills and learnings to serve the people.”
 
Through the years, the PLM College of Medicine has maintained an above average passing rate in every physician licensure exam, a testament to the quality education it provides to the Filipino youth.
