In an online press conference, Sec. Nograles announced that President Duterte approved the two-week extension recommended by the IATF to allow government to boost the number of testing centers and daily test capacity. The target is to reach between 13,000 to 20,000 tests per day by April 27.

He reiterated that the extension will buy time for the government to flatten the curve of the COVID-19 infections in the Philippines.
