The Commission on Audit awarded the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) with another “unmodified opinion” for its financial records for calendar year 2021.

This is the fourth straight year of PLM receiving what is deemed as the best audit rating from state auditors in their assessment of financial reports submitted by government institutions.

In a letter to University President Emmanuel Leyco, COA Director IV Atty. Maria Carmina Paulita B. Juguilon-Pagayawan said that auditors rendered an unmodified opinion on the fairness of the presentation of PLM’s financial statements.

The COA also acknowledged the “support and cooperation” of the University administration to the audit team as they conducted their financial audit.

“We are honored and proud to continue this tradition of clean and transparent operations of the University since I took office,” President Leyco said.

“This again affirms the commitment of PLM and of the City Government of Manila to embody good governance and maintain the high quality of education we offer to students. We also thank PLM executives, faculty, and staff for doing their part in ensuring proper financial recordkeeping and disbursements.”

As a local government-funded institution, PLM’s books are regularly reviewed by COA in keeping with government regulations.
