This is the second virtual graduation ceremony to be hosted by the University in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis.
Despite the unprecedented challenges of distance learning, PLM students forged on to fulfill their class requirements to complete their respective degrees.
The PLM Board of Regents officially conferred the degrees to 433 graduates during their July 21 meeting, composed of 129 undergraduate students and 304 master’s and doctorate students. Of them, seven are graduating cum laude.
PLM President Emmanuel Leyco and Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso will deliver inspirational messages, while Ms. Anna Patricia Non, founder of the community pantries movement during the pandemic, will serve as commencement speaker.
Cum laude graduate Bernadette Canapit from the PLM Business School will deliver the valedictory address for undergraduates, while Jenny Lynn Karunungan from the College of Medicine will address the postgraduate and professional degree holders.
Strict health protocols such as the wearing of masks and physical distancing were observed during the on-site graduation shoot done over a week, where a very limited number of graduates took part in along with key PLM officials and commencement speakers per day. Filming was done prior to the enhanced community quarantine declaration in Metro Manila.
The online graduation ceremony may be viewed through the PLM Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/PLM.Haribon/ , the Office of the PLM President page at https://www.facebook.com/PoPLMLeyco/ , and the PLM website at www.plm.edu.ph on Saturday afternoon.
Congratulations to the Class of 2021!
