The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila congratulates its alumna, Hon. Yvette Cutaran Contacto, for her appointment as commissioner of the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission.
Atty. Contacto, also a certified public accountant, secured her law degree from PLM. She went on to join her family’s law office to handle cases before the courts, with particular expertise in representing clients before the Court of Tax Appeals and the Commission on Elections.
The PACC is a special unit created to investigate and pursue charges against erring government officials and employees — a game-changer in the lofty goal of a corruption-free country.
PLM College of Law Dean George Erwin Garcia and University President Emmanuel Leyco extended their congratulations to Atty. Contacto, seeing this as another opportunity for a PLM graduate to directly contribute to nation-building.
“We are elated to see Atty. Contacto take on this role in aiding efforts to rid the government of graft and corruption. May she be an inspiring example to our students to serve the people with utmost excellence and integrity,” President Leyco said.
