The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila has accepted for admission over 4,000 freshmen applicants for academic year 2021-2022.

Some 55,000 high school students from all over the country applied and 13,500 applicants who were prequalified took the virtual PLM Admission Test (PLMAT) on May 7. It involved a two-hour written examination administered through online videoconferencing rooms.

The exam results as well as high school grades were used as basis to evaluate if a student is qualified for admission to PLM.

These students will comprise the second batch of first year students who will start their undergraduate degrees using online platforms which will employ out-of-classroom methods amid sustained government restrictions on face-to-face classes amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

By gender, two-thirds of the passers are female while the rest are male.

Nearly 60% of the successful applicants are residents of Manila, while the remainder hail from other parts of the country. Majority are from the National Capital Region.

Confirmation of slots will start on Friday, June 11 until June 25.

Applicants whose degrees were tagged as “for advising” will receive an email detailing the next steps on how they can choose a degree program.
