The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) recognizes the pronouncement from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) on Monday, August 29 that all students may now attend face-to-face classes regardless of their COVID-19 vaccination status.
CHED Chairman Prospero De Vera said both vaccinated and unvaccinated students as well as faculty members may return to onsite activities, a revision of guidelines issued in December 2021.

The Inter-Agency Task Force also previously revoked the medical insurance requirement for students returning to classrooms as part of a phased approach towards normalization.

“Safely returning to the classrooms is a major step toward normalizing our academic lives,” PLM President Emmanuel Leyco said. “Keeping our students away from classrooms for more than two years has already been too long. We look forward to welcoming more of our students back inside the campus.”

PLM is preparing for the implementation of the new directive. The University’s guidelines on face-to-face classes will be updated once implementing rules are released by authorities. Details will be published once available.

The University will conduct more classes in person beginning Academic Year 2022-2023, while general education classes will still be held online in keeping with physical distancing protocols
