PLM President highlights need to embrace Filipino music, pop culture
Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila President Emmanuel Leyco stressed the importance of appreciating Filipino popular culture and original Pilipino music or OPM for an individual’s holistic growth.

More than just a source of entertainment, the PLM President enjoins students to embrace the history and meaning that shaped Pinoy hits then and now to have a better understanding of the country’s gains and struggles.

Ang ating kultura ang kaluluwa ng ating pagkatao,” he told students from the PLM Business School who hosted a webinar entitled "Kumpas: Unifying Generations Through OPM."

From the Juan Dela Cruz Band and Hotdog to Apo Hiking Society, Side A, and the more current musicians, there lies the ebb and flow of the evolving history of the Filipino people.
