The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) celebrates the appointment of College of Law Professor Joan Padilla as the new head of the Intramuros Administration (IA).
President Bongbong Marcos appointed Prof. Padilla to lead the office which takes charge of Intramuros, the historic Walled City at the heart of the City of Manila.
Prof. Padilla, a lawyer, is a faculty member at the PLM College of Law. She has been teaching courses on Persons and Family Relations, Legal Writing, and Legal Judicial Forms.
She had been a former associate of the G.E. Garcia Law Office, a junior associate at the Sycip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan Law Office, and a managing partner at the Chang & Padilla Law Office.
“We extend our warmest congratulations to Prof. Padilla. It is truly a special position to hold as it still allows her to maintain close ties with our beloved University. We are confident that Prof. Padilla will govern well,” PLM President Emmanuel Leyco said.
The PLM campus is located within Intramuros, which had been the seat of power of the Spaniards during their centuries-long colonization of the Philippines. It has since been restored and developed into a mixed use space for business and tourism.
