For the third straight year, the Commission on Audit (COA) gave an unmodified opinion for the financial statements of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.

In a letter to PLM President Emmanuel Leyco, Director Omar Roque of the COA-National Capital Region attested to the fairness of the presentation of the University’s financial statements for calendar year 2020.

An unmodified opinion is the best audit rating which state auditors give as they assess financial reports submitted by government institutions.

This means that the reports submitted by PLM are “free from material misstatements” and comply with the reporting standards set by the audit agency.

COA officials also acknowledged the support and cooperation of PLM staff as they carried out the regular audit process through a pandemic year.

“On behalf of the PLM community, we take pride in the clean and transparent financial books of the University since I took office,” President Leyco said.

“COA’s unmodified opinion on PLM is an affirmation of the university’s adherence to good governance. Along with the City of Manila led by Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, PLM shall continue to pursue the mantra of good governance and principles of integrity and social responsibility,” President Leyco added.

PLM’s financial records are reviewed by the COA annually in compliance with government regulations.
