The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) congratulates its alumnus Glenmarc Antonio for his recent appointment as regional manager of the BC Wolves, a professional sports team based in Lithuania in Europe.

Antonio is a Mass Communication graduate who served as team captain of the PLM Men’s Basketball Varsity Team during his undergraduate years, leading the group to back-to-back first runner-up finishes during the Athletic Federation of the Association of Local Colleges and Universities seasons in 1998 and 1999. He had been awarded as PLM Male Athlete of the Year in 2001.

Antonio also taught several courses in PLM before joining the private sector.

He has taken his professional and athletic skills to boost the BC Wolves’ brand in the Philippines, a basketball-loving nation, through promotions, marketing initiatives, communications, and public relations for the organization.

“We are so proud of Mr. Antonio for this milestone. Truly, he is a living proof of the holistic education PLM provides to its students — he is able to excel in both academics and athletics in the University, which helped him succeed in his professional career,” University President Emmanuel Leyco said.

“Congratulations! We hope for your continued success in your industry, and we will support you whichever way we can,” he added.
Antonio paid a courtesy visit to President Leyco on Thursday, February 9, and exchanged jerseys with him. He is exploring the possibility of basketball camps and even BC Wolves team visits to Manila to expand international linkages, where he invited PLM sports enthusiasts to take part of.

“I would very much like my alma mater to take part in this endeavor, which may open opportunities for athletes and even for academic partnerships as well,” Antonio added.

The BC Wolves recruited Filipino collegiate player Juan Gomez de Liano to play for the team at the Lithuanian basketball league and the European North Basketball League. Antonio hopes to see more Filipinos to tune in to BC Wolves games and even more Filipino athletes suit up for the team.
