The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) is pleased to see more students return to campus as the second semester of Academic Year 2022-2023 opened on Monday, February 13.
As part of normalization efforts, classes at PLM will be held face-to-face at least 50% of the time.
Classes assigned to classrooms which have not been fully retrofitted or upgraded as prescribed under the Universityโs โnew normalโ guidelines will be held online until completion of repairs. Officials are also working to address logistical concerns regarding the campus canteen, which is expected to return to regular operations within the month.
PLM also held its regular โKumustahanโ with members of the community during the flag-raising ceremony.
Senior Vice President Clydelle Rondaris again assured that the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECEd) and the Bachelor of Special Needs Education (BSNEd) programs will not be dissolved, contrary to earlier speculations.
SVP Rondaris added that the University is working to recruit additional faculty members to support the conduct of more face-to-face classes.
โWelcome back to our dear students! We are happy to see more of you here with us inside the campus. With your cooperation, we can work towards full face-to-face classes down the road in the most convenient and safest way for members of the community,โ PLM President Emmanuel Leyco said.
President Leyco also encouraged students to coordinate closely with their respective academic units regarding issues encountered during the enrollment period.
PLM continues to remind students to wear face masks within campus to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to accomplish online health declaration forms a day prior to their entry to the campus.
