The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila College of Law bagged three awards in the recently concluded 31st National Convention of the Association of Law Students of the Philippines (ALSP).

Dean George Erwin M. Garcia announced that the ALSP cited the PLM College of Law Student Council as one of the Top Law Student Government in the Philippines. Fourth year student Casina Mae B. Cenit was given a Leadership Award and another student, Enrique Adolfo C. San Juan, was given the Presidential Citation for Outreach and Community Service.

The ALSP is the national federation of law students in the country. It is officially recognized as the student counterpart of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines.

Dean Garcia also announced that Atty. Roselyn Andrada Borja, a member of PLM CL Class of 1995, has been appointed as the presiding judge of the Regional Trial Court Branch 53 in Rosales, Pangasinan.

“We take immense pride that our students and alumna have been recognized in the national scene. This affirms our success in cultivating students as credible leaders who are always in the service of the PLM community and of the country,” PLM President Emmanuel Leyco said as he congratulated the honorees. “May these commendations serve as motivation to work harder for the greater good and inspire other aspiring lawyers.”

President Leyco also congratulated Judge Borja for her appointment. “We pray that you will always be guided and protected as you perform your duties and administer justice. May your decisions be right, just, and humane for the good of the Filipino people,” he said.

PLM is a premier public university which has produced graduates who have contributed to nation-building since 1965. #
